Ted grew up in a musical family with his mother, the noted jazz singer Lucy Reed. His musical influences include John Prine, Tom Waits, Brent Cobb, Oscar Brown, Jr., Bob Dylan, and Blaze Foley among others, all artists who write and perform music from the depths of their own souls. Ted had been performing and writing songs for three decades and loves the craft of songwriting and the sometimes intense midwifing it can take to bring a new song into the world. He accompanies himself mostly on guitar but piano as well and is happiest performing in intimate venues.
For performing, he engages crowds with his strong soulful voice and his extensive repertoire of cover tunes interwoven with his own music.
